False Indigo is a long-lived, hardy native perennial with a shrub-like, bushy, and mound-shaped form, typically growing 3–4 feet high and wide. It is prized for its attractive, soft bluish-green clover-like foliage, early summer spikes of deep blue or violet, pea-like flowers, and dramatic dark, inflated seed pods that appear in late summer.
